Bridges?
Re: Bridges?
I need a bit of time to digest what you've just said but most of it seems to make sense to me ... something to ponder. Great to hear from a guy who has played around with this stuff.

Re: Bridges?
Hello Larry. I have always favoured brass for my lap steel bridges, and nut's,
I have a West Coast 8string lap steel it is fitted with a brass bridge and nut, always sounds good.

Re: Bridges?
After quite a bit of research, I decided to go with a Dynalap style bridge on my 8 string build:
My decision came from a few factors...
1. Simplicity. A single piece of routed hardwood, a single piece of round stock.
2. Cohesion. My bridge wood is maple, which matches the body. The round stock 'matches' my lipstick tube p/up.
3. Availability. The round stock is from Lowe's, the hardwood for the bridge came from WoodCraft, a woodworkers supply store. It's a piece of wood intended for wood-turners to turn pen blanks out of. Works great for my needs.
Most 8-string guitar hardware is expensive and/or unavailable. This is a simple design that I could pull off while still having a solid bridge.
I am thinking about modding it, though....that may be a new thread.
Thanks -
