Thought I would share a pick of my steel seat. No store bought, but still holds the stuff and my rump!

Hi Scott,

Seat looks good :)

That looks like the same GFI as I have, is it the student model? I have one the same colour but just 2 knee levers.

Could you possibly put up a few photos on the undercarriage for me, I bought mine 2nd hand and think the rodding has been changed, so I've been playing about with it. GFI sent me a rodding chart but not sure it exactly matches my version/age.

It would be interesting to compare with yours. I've also been thinking of making the extra 2 knee levers as my first attempt on pedal steel construction at some point, so it would be useful to see the setup.

Thanks,

Geoff

Geoff, I have it in the case right now to go play tonight, but when I get home, I will do you some pics. Mine is 3 x 2, about to 3 x 3 (kit in hand).

Thanks Scott, appreciate it, email address sent :)

I noticed after looking at the photo again that yours was also a 2 lever model, but both on the left. Mine has one lever on the left and one on the right, e - eb on the left and the raise on the right side of the guitar. Don't know why they did it that way, mine is a fairly early edition.

I priced up the additional kits but they were quite expensive with the added postage to this side of the pond, which is why I'm thinking about having a go at making them myself. Plus I'm not sure if the current kits would work with my earlier model. Do you intend to add the 4th at some point?

But I'm half thinking about selling it on and treating myself to something really nice, I like the GFI but I'd like to upgrade at some point :D

As I had indicated, I am adding the RKR using the GFI kit. They do not come with instructions, but using the picture on their site, it's easy to do. Only two holes to drill to mount the lever into the wood part of the body. It is not shown in these pics.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for doing that. I realised that I should have included my actual email address in my reply to you, forgot that the forum would mask my actual address

These are good photos already but it would be nice to have the higher res so I'll send you my email address.

Yours looks like a newer model than mine, some differences but essentially the same.

Good luck with fitting the extra knee lever :)

I'll post a picture of the addition when I get it in. I was short a spring, which they are sending.

I'm not 100% happy with the cushion, and may go to a bolt on folding boat seat with back rest instead of the cushion.
