Hi Guys
I know this has been discussed before but i couldnt find anything on it.
What are the pros and cons of doing this?

mic stand for PSG legs?
Re: mic stand for PSG legs?
Wayne, no cons the way I see it. They were used earlier(in the first days of ShoBud) You would have to pay a premium price for new ones. Good luck finding nice used ones. Now that they use black ones all the time.
I gave up looking for, and pricing those.
I tried used ones but very hard to buy good ones for a decent price.
I finally smartened up and decided to buy all my legs from Don Burrows at http://bsgsteelguitars.com/sslegs.htm Polished stainless steel at what I consider to be a very reasonable price for a high quality leg.
BTW..check forum posts here....I know there are people who make their own..Mac Knowles for example. Maybe you could get ideas to make your own, if it is just for your one-off.

Don't know if you would have to modify anything as long as there is a solid threaded insert in the lower part of the thick tube...an insert with a 1/2" 13tpi threaded stud. I can't see where this would be any more reasonable than the $37.50 that Don charges per leg. And you get them the height that you want as well.

Listen to Uncle Bent. Bite the bullet and just buy them. There's some things that it just doesn't pay to get "fancy" 'bout.

Bent and Richard
The music store hear in my home town does have the chrome mic stands
in stock for $27.00 each. To buy these there would be no shipping and
customs charges and US to CANADIAN coversion! If one has to cut
the tubes and make inserts then im probably just as far ahead to buy
the ready to use ones as youall have suggested!
Thanks

Re: mic stand for PSG legs?
Good thinking Wayne. It might cost way too much to have the inserts made. I can easily see $30.00 a piece for those. Lots of work involved.
