Length of Pedals

How long are you folks making your pedals. The only comercial one I'm familiar with is a Carter D10 (under 5 inches). The ones on my 1st build are too long. Much of it depends on pedal rod location vs front apron, leg angle etc since this is a one-off.

My Emmons pedals are 5 inches long (from the centre of the pivot point to the end of the pedal)

The locating pin for the pedal rod is 2 inches from the pivot point centre.

If you have the room, put 2 or 3 rod connecting holes in the pedal (either side of 2 inches), this gives you plenty of scope when doing the final set-up.

Pedals on both my MSA and Dekley are just shy of 5 inches from center pivot-point to end.
Rod hook-up is around 1 3/4 inch from pivot-point on the MSA.
1 3/8 on the Dekley (with another hole for hook-up at around 1 7/8 inch).

Thanks Guys! Looks like there is some consensus out there. I was toying with the idea of putting extra rod connecting holes. Rain coming our way tomorrow, I'll be able to spend most of the day in the shop.

I'll post some pics once I take the guitar apart for final polishing and oiling etc to show individual parts.

The unit is a basic keyless pull release with lowers on the left and raises on the right and 6 pedals like my 1st build.

Although it is overbuild in some areas I've used some finngenuity in how it's gone together.

I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on this one.
