Pat, I was told it was ok to use this for lube/coolant when milling aluminum by the engineer/machinist who gave me the mill. They use it extensively in his shop for aluminum and he swears by it. But like I said, it gets too expensive. And smelly. That's why I switched to varsol today. It works just as fine as WD. And Varsol is even more of a degreaser. You have to remember, you spray it on every second while milling. It is gone instantly, doesn't need to linger but for that moment the cutter runs over it. Look at the stuff they put in the tanks of mills....special oil mixable with water, that you mix 5% oil to 95% water...always washing over the work piece. It is the constant wetness and cooling you are after - not so much the greasy part.

Just about ready to put the changer together. For that occasion, I thought I would serve up an "exploded" view of all the parts that go into it:

Bill, I thank you for the kind words. It means a lot coming from a man with your abilities!
I want to let you know that I am again using your pedal rod-bending tool. I am amazed at how smoothly this thing works. It is so versatile - it will bend any kind of hook in 3/16" SS rod.
I will adapt it for bending 3/32" pull rods as well. Piece of cake for this tool.

Today I test-fitted changer, end plate and changer housing. Went together with a few minor adaptations.

By heck Bent you sure can make nice parts with that fancy miller.
And Bill.....if you're reading this, can you point me to the rod bending jig you made. I looked for it on your posts but couldn't find anything.
Thanks for this,
Mac
