I have progressed a little further, but am still trying different idea's, I have yet to make a pedal bar, finger stops and 'half stop' before I can set everything up accurately, but so far the knee levers appear to work.

LOVE those robust side rails! Could you describe your "half-stop" scheme for us? Am beating to death my idea for the Dekley but with mixed results. Doesn't hurt to have input from someone else.

Can you alter the endplates so the that legs splay out at more, or is it too late?

In their current position, the steel will be too unstable, and the pedals too close for comfortable use

Hi 'Burt', nice to hear from you, regarding the leg angles on my pedal steel, I set them at approx 8 degrees. The centres at the body end (front to back) are 7" and at the extremes of the legs just over 13", the photo's seem to make them look rather vertical. I would need to remake the leg housings to change any angles, as I said before this is all 'suck it and see' and I value any suggestions made as regards this project. I am learning a lot by building this and have found a few things that could be vastly improved so perhaps the next one will be a superior version.

Richard I am still working out ideas for the half stop but I will post the finished result when I get a satisfactory working model.

Shows careful thought, planning, and craftsmanship. You are going to have an instrument others will want... probably at a name your price deal. Very, very nice work. Will look forward to seeing it totally finished.

I promised Richard I would put up a view of the 'half stop' when I managed to get one working satisfactorily.

It is based on an 'MSA' one that was around in the '70s', it does lower the D# to D then on to C#, the D position can be altered + or - by turning the knurled knob in or out.

Where did you purchase the inlays?

Way to go Ron, she IS looking sweet. What size (dia) are your pull rods? they look like mild steel? I hope that you don't mind the offer, but I may have some St/St, definitely 2.4mm & maybe 3.2mm diameter, send me a private email please if you want any.

A couple of photo's of my 'pedal bar' setup, I have yet to make up a couple of retainers to slide across the legs.

I hope all these are of interest and I am not uploading too much 'dross'.
