...and here is the finished gold... um .. brass finger before chrome plating. Almost too pretty for plating isn't it?

Finally got some fixtures made to mill the raise and lower scissors. Had a tough time figuring them out. Now when I finally get them made they really are the simplest little things and now I can't understand what I was worried about.
When done on the mill, there is just a little sanding to do on the disk sander for the lowering scissors. And for the round part on top of the raise scissors, they get that done in the finger-rounding jig. Works great. Then de-burring and bend the rod pullers and voila it's done!

Stack um, and do a bunch at a time, good idea..Hmmmmm. I like the disposable vise jaws with the groove/cutout for holding parts. Making a fixture for machining multiple part is well worth the effort.
FWIW.......If you ever buy a tool box from a retired machinist, never,ever throw away any of those funky looking "thingys" that you find in there, they were for a purpose, you may never use any of them...but you never know.

Bent, proud of you my friend, I told you to think on it for a little bit, and you would figure it out. The more you do it the easier it gets. I found if making more than 2 or 3 of the same thing the jig is the way to go. Besides they look more professional. It may take a little time, but I think it is worth it....

Bent,
There's a small design fault in the finger that you should rectify before you assemble the steel.
There is a slight bend (arrowed) that should be smoothed out, to eliminate the possibility of string breakage.
It needs to be blended in to the radius, so that the string does not go over an abrupt angle.

Burt, I'll be sure to check with all the string gauges and take your suggestion in to consideration. Right now, when I try with an .011 it seems the exit hole is in the correct position to make it a gentle transition form hole to rounding. If I see a problem, it sure won't take much filing to eliminate this.
