Hi Russ that is in the making for a beautiful looking key head. With that level of machining, it will polish up nicely.
Say, how do you make the keyhead and nut in one piece? I suppose you'll need an extra thick piece of aluminum eh?
I have a 5X 2 1/2 piece here..that gave me ideas :-)

Hi Bent ,Your right about needing a thicker plate to make it all in one piece, only bad thing about that is wasteing all that aluminum, but everything comes with a price dosent it , a casting would be more in order here, with a casting it could be made quicker and more efficent and would be just as pretty once finished , thanks for looking and commenting . Russ, casting yes. I was going to try my hand at a little home foundry if I ever get the time. Lots of work involved..making patterns, mixing good foundry sand etc etc
Never seems to be enough time.
