Now, HERE's where a curve serves as a functional element. With slick-soled shoes and your heel planted on the floor, there'll be a little "slippage" as the pedal is depressed. Further, there's not a sharp edge to dig into the bottom of your foot. Well - maybe not you 'cause you might wear big-'ol engineers boots but, for folks like myself who prefer ballet slippers, it would make a difference.
Regardless of the functionality, I LIKE it!
And Bent - a curve to the foot pad just might be quite attractive. Think about it.

I have a curve there. The pedal in the pic is right off of the mill. I do the curve with the sander.richard37066 wrote:

Just a slight curve, gentler than the Marlen. I don't like to overdo things
