Ball Connector For Pedal Rod

Here's what I'm planning on using it should work basically off the shelf brass lamp parts:
2 - 1/8 couplings joined by a close nipple;
2 - 1/8 pipe X 1/4 in F Bushing;
1 - hex nut ground to fit inside coupling against the F bushing drilled & tapped to fit pedal rod
2nd bushing on bottom end to beef the unit up a bit;
Spring retainer for ball connector.

I'll be mounting it on my current steel to try it out for a while before I make the rest of them.

Mac, I'm not sure where the ball is from originally - it's not a grease fitting. I'll be checking my neighbour to see what he has for grease fittings tomorrow the shaft between the ball and the shoulder is a bit too short.

Perhaps a socket head capscrew might also work with a hole drilled throught both sides of the coupling. I can see it being as bit more stable that way. Also perhaps a nylon insert of some kind to make it ruin smoother.

Pat, thanks, I agree about cheaper and I'd consider it but I have the stuff kicking around in my shop from a previous sideline my bride and I had a number of years ago.

Hi Eldon, The best place to get ball connectors is from a car breakers yard from carb linkage, The way I connected my pedals on my super cheap psg was with 10mmx2mm flat steel bar with bends in the right place and then drilled and threaded at both ends that makes the rod adjustment, 4mm hex bolts with right angle bend and key hole slots in the pedals,
it aint pretty but it works,best wishes ,Ray.

Expanding on Ray's idea, two nuts soldered or welded into a ferrule might look a bit more erganomic, or if you have a long enough tap, an internally threaded ferrule.
You could slide an end off an aluminum cigar tube (do they still make them?) over Ray's device to beautify it.
