Steel end plates

Well Ive spent the past year putting together bits and pieces and now need to construct my end plates. I don't cast, and don't aluminum weld but I do have a nice Hobart mig welder. I was wondering if anyone has ideas, wisdom, etc regarding using angle steel welded to form the end plates or corners. This would make it fairly easy for me to add the leg assemblies since I could also weld large nuts to the inside fame for screwing the legs in. Polishing then maybe hot gun blue job for finishing. Also, any thoughts to using dovetail joints for case assembly?

Roger, how about just bending the angles in 1/8" flat stock? YOu could even heat it red hot to make the bending easier. Then some 1" square stock for the legs, or, like you suggested, large nuts.
