Re: D8 CONSOLE
If you teach Scripture as well as you build guitars then your congregation is blessed - not once - but twice if you play it for them!

Nicely done Pastor! What's your scale length? Better yet can you provide sound files of you playin' it? Really like to hear it. Sure looks good.
Re: D8 CONSOLE
Pastor, you do some fine work. May you make many more steels.
As an aside; how do you feel about using the pedal steel guitar instead of the organ, to play for the congregation's hymns?

Re: D8 CONSOLE
thanks much for kind comments!
scale length on all my builds ,so far,is 23 1/2"--seems to do nicely.
used the same fretboards as my psg's - made at a local trophy
shop.
as for playing with the congregation,i generally lean to piano , but
sometimes use organ. never tried our regular church hymns with
the steel as the core instrument , but odd you should ask -- something wonderful took place just last week --as i played o song
at offering time on the steel , our people struck up singing with it
but how could one resist "how great thou art!"
really am glad to be a small voice here and thankful to know that so
many fine people are loving and making steels and oooo what great skill the lord giveth!keep up the work and the sharing.
would'nt it be great if we could influence our little corner with
sweet melody from the heart -- maybe we can!
as for teaching scripture --if frogs croak and birds sing , there may just be a little i can try to do , too.trying since 77 to make a difference and hope on my last day here i'm learning as much or
more than i could begin to teach!
god bless you all -- pastor bruce

Re: D8 CONSOLE
I sure do love your steel guitar and especially love your Praise fret board! How could I get one like it for my next build?
