I've been looking at stew mac for bridges and wanted to set mine up with a Tune-o-matic type set up, or one of the one piece string through designs,. but everything seems to have a radius on it. I suppose I could file them and reshape them, Or should I just make a saddle with the round bar design.? ...

I read in another post somewhere that double sided carpet tape was used for sticking on an edge to router by, that's what I did for the neck sides, taped a straight piece of mdf to the neck to run the bearing on and it worked great.

I don't see why you'd havvvvve to have one, I barely touch the knobs on my guitars. With the use of a volume pedal you should be good to go! I've been trying to figure out an access panel on the back of the lap I'm building,... No knobs is sounding like a pretty good idea to me!
