Re: Drawing / dimensions ? How did you all start ?

Makes sense, Richard, in that it makes the string run at less of an angle. The straighter the better. Of course perfectly straight would be the best I assume.
However, the 1/4" on my guitars work great as well

Re: My Sheffield D10 is slowly taking shape

Beautiful as always, Dave. Question: Why the uneven cross shaft spacing? If 2.5" pedal spacing, why not go for even cross shaft spacing of 1.25"?
Is easier knee lever spacing the reason?

Sound advice, Richard. Why 9/32" string spacing at the nut? I thought 1/4" was the standard, or ok anyway. Did I miss something?

Xavier, you have done it again...you have produced an outstanding piece of artistry. I have no other word for it because that what it is to me, Pure art.
I believe that we will see your creations in stores. Good luck on your future projects!

Re: Return compensators

Bent - Have we both missed something? Janne states that "rise OK but when lowering it return sharp". Does he mean that he executes a "raise" and that it doesn't return true but stops just short - returning "sharp"? Richard, I didn't miss anything. But what you are talking about re the lower return ...

Re: Return compensators

Richard I'm not sure that what you write is the problem here. I think what Janne is writing about is string hysterisis, where, especially the 4th string lower returns sharp after the lowering. I believe this to be a separate issue from lower return spring tightness. I just discussed this with Ben, t...

Re: Return compensators

Janne, I believe there to be more than one of those out there. I would love to read details and explanations of these as well. Anyone?

Re: Serial 007

Storm, You are not just hearing things. One heavyweight in the business told me the same thing - great string separation, plus other pleasing adjectives. Also, a top dog builder told me how he loves the beauty of the tone and is wondering if he should switch to brass fingers like in the BenRom. It i...

Pro, I'll go along with Russ here. 6" wide outside measurement should be plenty for an S10

Re: Serial 007

Thanks Ross and everybody for your kind words. Here is a sound clip. As usual, my friend Dale Rivard from Tilbury On. comes to test-play the newest BenRom. This one was no exception. Here he is, playing a well known tune. http://soundcloud.com/benrom/dale-rivard-mansion-on-the
