Re: LF thoughts on this finger design please
Yeah killing sustain, hysterisis , etc. when Bud Carter built the ETS he used bearings on the axle and no detrimental effect happened ,in fact it was quite the opposite so most peeps on building side consider that a debunked myth. The fingers returned to pitch much better pretty much killing the hys...

Re: LF thoughts on this finger design please
Thats what I use as pads between scissor plates and pretty much any placce they fit. I can't find any that have a center hole of 5/16 so thats when I resort to hand punching or soon using a compass knife (thanks Ron), I'm lazy assed and have grown fond of the self sticking on one side. As long as I ...

Re: LF thoughts on this finger design please
Most of it is but I have some sheets that are clean.I mostly use the sticky sided easier than trying to keep plain stuff in place during assembly.I am kinda amazed at the tuffness of this stuff guess it from the UHMW of the polymer, damn sure slippery when it lays down nice and flat, outstanding ide...

Re: LF thoughts on this finger design please
HMMMMM I didn't think the carter thing thru obviously, but if u use 3/8 drill rod I don't really think there is any problematic yield or distortion of the axle anyway, very few of the high quality pro steels use any axle support other than the housing at each end but that's my opinion. However appare...

Re: LF thoughts on this finger design please
Or do the changer housing like Bud Carter did and just machine it with 1 or 2 axle support members instead of every finger like ShoBud and Ron do.You should really use a bearing , no more greasy as lube, no more lubing at all unless a pivot rivet gets some beach sand in it. As a side effect you will...

Re: LF thoughts on this finger design please
ShoBud uses a 5/16 axle stock which is what I still have there, I left it stock as the idea was to make repairing an old worn finger not just a repair but an upgrade also. It's a fairly easy to do fix/upgrade so the old finger is way better than stock and shouldn't need any further repairs and is mu...
