Re: LF thoughts on this finger design please

Wow. Those are some long rivets. Are you using those in the scissors? You must have to shorten them if so.

Re: LF thoughts on this finger design please

Re: LF thoughts on this finger design please

Thanks for the link, Ron. No, I hadn't found them. The minimum thickness they offer is 0.005". Good enough?

Re: LF thoughts on this finger design please

Thanks Ron, I've got one on order. Not having much luck finding a PTFE film supplier in Canada, or one in the States that will ship to Canada. What do you think of these things? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0099AMQGS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Looks to me like it wo...

Re: LF thoughts on this finger design please

Thanks for the info and link. Having a hard time finding a supplier here in Canada. Would like to avoid cross-border shipping if possible - it's always a ripoff. Will keep looking.

Re: Keyless tuning module

Mac (the OP) wrote a book that includes a description of how to build his keyless tuner. It has some dimensioned drawings to help guide you. It doesn't look like he's been on this forum for quite some time. You could try contacting him though his web site http://www.mkguitars.com.

Re: LF thoughts on this finger design please

[Clearly I wasn't thinking straight this morning, so I've fixed my post] I think I would call what you're using for the axle a drill blank as in here: http://www.kbctools.ca/products/CUTTING%20TOOLS/DRILLS/DRILL%20BLANKS/263.aspx I like the ptfe anti friction spacer idea. Makes sense to me. In each ...

Re: LF thoughts on this finger design please

OK, so you're saying bearing on the brass finger, don't worry about the lower scissor finger. I like that. If I look at a design having a support between each finger, would the following seem reasonable: Shaft Dia: 3/8 String Spacing: 11/32 = 0.344" Brass Finger: 5/32 = 0.156" (same width as a R1038...
