Re: MSA U12 pedal Issue

Blacksb21, With the guitar upside down, check for rubbing/binding of adjacent changers & pull rods. Maybe you can see what is causing the string to go flat. Is the pedal that causes #6 to go flat touching/rubbing anywhere? Does the tuners (nylon nuts) have some (not much) slack with all the pedals a...

Re: A few more pics of my new 8 string C6

Eldon,
I'm curious to see how you have the stops on the lower/raises. I remember how Sho-Bud did it, I put together a couple of pull release guitars with that type system.

Re: Arcs 'n' degrees

Mornin Bent, Thanks for your reply, your thoughts on this pretty much lines up with mine. My MSA has the 2 hole bellcranks, and I have a couple of things I want to try. The crosshafts are 3/8" round, thus the reason for the design, also the 1/4"thickness on the bottom is for added thread area. The d...

Re: Arcs 'n' degrees

Bent, I'm sure this has been discussed/beat into the ground but, is it better to have the bellcrank stop at 90 deg, or start at 90Deg, or go thru the 90 deg position? The reason for asking is, I have enough room for threaded part to be 1/4" (see dwg.) and think it will be strong enough to hold OK. I...

Re: Will a thicker pedal bar cure "walking"?

mike, I read on the SG Forun that there was someone making a stabilizer of sorts. You may want to try putting a stabilized of sorts made of a scrap piece of wood, or whatever you have handy (see drawing), You could use C clamps to attach it to see if it helps. If it works, then make a permanent pres...

Re: roller nut

(drill presses aren't made to be pushed on sideways too much)

Very true, Most drill presses have a taper fit mounted chuck that will/may come off when side pressure is applied.
Be careful when working with any rotating tool.

Re: roller nut

Bay, Sho-Bud used string balls on some of their models, don't remember which one(s). I think I would go for the McMaster spacers, and the triangle file, use the smallest file you can find and start with the smallest groove first. If you go with the bought rollers/spacers,I would get a couple extras....

Re: Undercarriage diagram

Fred,
If you look on the steelguitar forum under steels for sale, you will see some pictures of the underside of a few different PSGs.
If you like,I can email you some pics of the underside of my MSA, and my CLR, it will be about 3mb zipfile.
