Re: cross rod question!
I've made several guitars without a step at all, just a 9-1/2" width body, to allow for a thin pad and to put the knee levers closer to the back. Top and aprons are full 3/4" stock. Aprons are 3-1/4" wide but the back one is cut out most of the way across by about 5/8". It sure makes things a lot ea...

Re: What sort of wood?
Why don't you just go to Home Depot or Lowes etc. They have usually lots of nice maple boards at a fairly reasonable price. A 1 x 8 x 8ft. long is all you need.

Mac's projects on hold for quite awhile
Good morning all, I haven't been on here much lately. Here's why. We've decided to sell our house in town this spring (summer?) and build an apartment at our daughter's place just outside of town (www.waggsnwhiskers.ca). So you can imagine I'm going to be pretty busy for the forseeable future. Crap,...

Rusty Walker's D12 ShoBud
Something that bothers me occasionally. I was a friend of Rusty Walker since we were 10 years old. He was actually Bernie Dunn but changed his name when he started playing on the road with George Hamilton IV. Some of you Canadian guys would probably have known him. He was one of the best C6th player...

Re: Changer Both Ends _Pull Release
Hi Eldon.... Of course..... it's entirely conceivable that you can tune to pitch from the right hand end as well as anywhere else. Might make readjusting the raise tuners a little nasty when changing strings. And on the lowering end. I know it seems to make perfect sense to push rather than pull the...

Re: Changer Both Ends _Pull Release
Looks good Eldon. Are you going to be able to get at the cap screw easily to lock the string? What have you got in mind to actually tighten the string to pitch? When you get it working you're going to like it. Way better sustain than any roller assembly I think mostly because of the mass of the fing...

Gary...that's interesting. Do you have the EBay number or some way to get to it?
Mac
Sorry Gary....I found it on EBay. Sure is a weird guitar. I wonder who
made it?

Re: PSG legs?
I've tried various ways to attach the legs. The best one I've found is illustrated the best I can in the attached drawing. I have a whole bunch of 1-1/4" regtangular tubing (1/8" wall). I drill the holes at 10 deg. (actually I use a hole saw in the drill press) ...7/8" holes. Then I make the wedge a...
