hmm, ain't nothin like a little 3d modeling to finger this out...I'll get to it when I can. In the meantime since we're on this subject, here's a pic of Linkon's take on an "ABC" (adjustsble bell crank)
this sucker has a total width of around .680"!

Re: Bellcranks
bell cranks/pull rods are spaced at .344", hard to see without a 3D viewer or multiple views, but there is no contact between any pull rod and the bell crank on on an adjacent string. Are we talking about the same thing? I'm all for being set straight if I'm missing something. Thanks for checking me.

Re: Bellcranks
Hi Bent, I guess I'm being dense, 'cuz I'm not following you. Using the protos I've made, the rods going to different cranks from the same string stack above and below each other and run parallel to the front and rear aprons of the guitar. The only bending necessary would occur if one had to get a r...

Re: Inlays
Thanks Bent...no where near so sweet as that blue dream you just finished! I think what you're suggesting can be done, but I don't think it has anything to do with how straight a pull rod run is. without digging further into your idea, I can't be absolutely sure, but I'm pretty sure it would also ad...

Re: Inlays
I posted a Solidworks model of this long ago and finally got around to making a few....works perfectly. It just for timing. Tuning is still done at the end plates. The mondo c-clip is all I had around, I have a couple of different solutions that are a bit more svelte. Stack 'em and pack 'em!

Re: Alternate tuning structures and ethno-music
Howdy Ed, I'd love to explore new tunings....Once I feel confident in E9 world...(2.5 years in now), gimme another 20 years or so and I'll be all over some different tunings. Kidding aside here's some nice latin stuff by Carlos Polidura. I haven't a clue what tuning he's got going, but his steel pla...

Re: Pull Release Fingers Binding
No prob Ricardo, no negative intent meant. I just wanted to clarify. I may not have had the fingers out of the guitar yet to see grinding on the mating surfaces when you and I exchanged emails about the PS.

Re: Pull Release Fingers Binding
slight correction to Richards PS210 mention. The fingers are die-cast then chrome plated, then the interface between the raise and lower fingers is ground flat, removing plating in that area. Once I cleaned the gudge (30 plus year old grease) off the fingers and applied a bit of thin oil the changer...
