Eldon,
I'm curious to see how you have the stops on the lower/raises. I remember how Sho-Bud did it, I put together a couple of pull release guitars with that type system.

If I understand what you,re asking Bill, my pedal stops are the floor that the guitar sits on. Real simple that way, haven't had any issues with it yet. Right side fingers stop against end plate, left hand ones on tuning screws. I'll post another pic later, not at my cmputer right now.

Eldon,
It looks to me like you have installed the fingers the wrong way round.

The ball end of the string goes the other side of the finger, so that the string can then wrap around the full radius of the finger, with no sharp edges contributing to early string breakage.

I understand what you're saying Burt. The photos don't show it well but I have a changer at either end. The string goes around the top of the finger in both cases. I've been playing it for about 1/2 hour each day for a few monts now with no string breakage.

Eldon, it looks quite normal to me. Great work my friend!

The first picture shows the correct way to route the string.

There are no sharp bends, unlike the second picture.

Richard, I see what you're saying now. Time will tell how it works for Eldon.

Thanks for posting the pics Burt.

I see what you mean and agree with you. What may be a bit of a saving grace is that rather than drilling the hole for the string at right angles Drilled it at a bit of an angle. Then where it exits the finger I filed/dremmel tooled a channel so as to form a gentle bend. I'll have to look and see if I have room to change the fingers around. Try as I might I didn't see this one when I was building. Wouldn't take much to make a new set of fingers if need be.

As Bent says time will tell.

Thanks again Burt
