Build update.

Post by Jason Lynch »

Well, its progressing, albeit at a snails pace.
I'm getting the holes drilled in my bell cranks, have some lovely CNC milled string cams, some excellent pedals, which Will Cowell made for me and ill post pics of soon.
here, though, are the first rough finished parts of my changer fingers. need holes drilled for nylons yet.

It's good to see you are progressing Jason, I know only too well that it takes time and sometimes can be frustrating but it is certainly satisfying when you see it coming together.
Keep us informed, there doesn't seem much movement on the forum now, compared to the volume there used to be, but help and appreciation is still out there.

Best Regards

Ron Mc :) :)

Thanks Ron. I mocked up my scissors to find I've got some binding issues to resolve but it's getting there. Thanks again for the bellcranks you made me.

Hi Jason,
What is the 'binding' you are experiencing?

The raise finger is about 2mm too long, and The lowering finger cutaway is about 2 mm too high, meaning both fingers are immovable. I'll trim them and see where we are.

Hi Jason,
I don't know if it will be any help but here is a link to the dimensions I'm using.

Glad to see some activity here. I'll forever admire the "can do" attitude you guys without machine shop access have. Not that having machinery makes anything "easy". These things are beasts to build either way.

kudos to all y'all!

Cheers Ross. A small milling machine would make life much easier it must be said.

Well, I've sorted the binding issues but now I've mocked up my scissors with the string cam, I have other issues that I'm not sure I can resolve. Might be back to the drawing board.
