Steel Guitar Builder

For my changer I'm using steel cams, machined for me by a local CNC engineering company. Is it ok to use aluminium for the scissors or should they be steel too?

If you use a heavier gauge than the steel it might be okay, but you would have to reduce the thickness of the fingers in order to keep the string spacing.
