Hey folks or you steel builders, been a while since I have been on here, I am wanting to make simple bell cranks with 6 or 7 holes on a flat piece of steel metal about 1/8" wide not sure of length to use, with a clinched nut pressed in the bottom side of the plate that is large enough to accept the round cross shaft through then drill the clinched nut for a set screw to go into to lock it against the cross shaft, may have to add tac weld to clinched nut to hold it to the plate steel, my question is what size would my clinched nut have to be in diameter and what size would the bell crank plate in length would be, hope you guys have some ideas or pictures. I used a threaded rod as cross shaft and a nut either side of bell crank. Tighten up tightly and seems to work. Prob could glue nuts and tighten.
