Scale length

Post by Scott Howard »

I am thinking of adding to the scale length of my next MSA project . I have been wanting to make a aluminum pickup pocket / changer bracket for it . I am thinking I can add a inch to the scale by making the aluminum plate a inch longer in front of the pickup. I cannot say for sure until my keyless head gets here and I can get all my measurements.

It may be interesting to get a fretboard . I have heard that a longer scale guitar has better sustain but I do not know and thought it would be a good time to experiment.
I have never had a MSA with anything but the Mica covered neck and wondered how it would change the sound with the aluminum pocket like the one pictured.
