I'm gonna get in trouble for this, but Pat, I was surprised you did it this way. I was thinking, stain it first, then put the inlay in. But there was lovely grain in that maple, and the stain seems to hide it

the pictures didn't came out as good and it doesn't show the birds eye very well...but I can assure you that the birds eye came out really good , you'll be surprise how nice this guitar is gonna look once finished , I will take some pictures outside on a sunny day once it's finish, i'm almost done with the undercarriage and I will post some new pics in a few days.

birdseye maple is super rare over here in UK

here we have lots of birds eye maples and sometimes I even use it as firewood for my stove

i found there was too much contrast leaving the inlay natural...the inlays are stained lighter then the rest of the guitar to give it alittle contrast, like i said the pictures doesn't do it justice .

Here's a picture showing the birds eye maple...the lighting in my shop is very bright and makes it hard to take good pictures, once the guitar finished I will take some pics outside which will be better.

Hi y'all, been a long time ...

I finaly finished my #5 last summer and I was very busy playing gigs and working in the studio and on top of that... I started a new traditional classic country music 5 piece band, that is why it took this long to post,...and maybe a little too lazy too , hope everyone's is doin' good , here's a few pics of the Comeau #5.
