Playing... What a difference and hour makes.

Post by na4it »

Well, I was sitting here today, running through scales, exploring chords, etc. and decided to take a break and listen in to my favorite gospel station. I thought, hey, there's one I might be able to do rhythm to on the steel. And lo and behold... I DID IT! Some of the stuff I have learned on a E9 Sho Bud Maverick 30 years ago came to life on a little 6 sting tuned to C6. I will have to admit, it's rusty, and right now sounds like a cross between Dobro, Sacred Steel and Southern Gospel Steel, but is a start! I have enjoyed playing several hours today!

Hi Scott, its always very rewarding when you work so hard and learn something new isn't it.You can do a lot with scales , work the modes they ll give you different sounds and add versatility, play them in 3rds 4ths 5ths and so on , when you can do that youl l be on your way to great improvising , just some thing to keep in mind :D Russ
