I've been looking at stew mac for bridges and wanted to set mine up with a Tune-o-matic type set up, or one of the one piece string through designs,. but everything seems to have a radius on it. I suppose I could file them and reshape them, Or should I just make a saddle with the round bar design.? anyone know of a specific bridge like that for lapsteels perhaps ?

I used a 'telecaster' type bridge on mine

A lot of hand built steels I have seen have a simple aluminum angle bridge. You could go string through body, or another aluminum angle behind the bridge for the strings.

I also used Tele style bridges on my first two builds, even built a new stainless base plate to make an 8 string tele style. And then got to thinking and asking " does a lapsteel even need a compensated bridge?"

The more I read up on this, the more I found the general agreement to be no need for a compensated bridge.
A bar will do just fine, which I will use on my next build.
