The need for a volume or tone control

Been thinking about this... if I plan to use a volume pedal, and my amp has EQ, is there really a reason to have a volume or tone control on the steel?

I don't see why you'd havvvvve to have one, I barely touch the knobs on my guitars. With the use of a volume pedal you should be good to go! I've been trying to figure out an access panel on the back of the lap I'm building,... No knobs is sounding like a pretty good idea to me!

Well, that's what I was thinking. I mean, yea, if you are building a double neck you probably need a selector switch, but if it is a single neck, one pickup guitar, it's something less to do.
