Hi guys,

I routed the electronic cavities:

And I got my custom PU today:

Image

I asked Jason for a prewar Rickie sound, we'll see...

And I got some more bookmatched flamed maple from the waste of my top:

Enough for the headstock veneer and the cavity cover!

Hi guys,

The headstock angle (5°) is OK:

The electronics cavity cover is done

I inlaid some small magnets instead of screw to lock it in place

And a small bevel on the cover helps to remove it:

Soon will be time to glue the top on the body...

Hey Xavier, you sure are really moving along on this build. Looking good. You have a natural talent. I am anxious to see the finished product.

The top of the headstock is now square:

after

Burns have been then sanded:

The corian has been sanded to 6 mm thicknedd for the nut, and I roughly cut the quilted maple (top) for the headstock:

Difficulties are coming ahead!!! (bindings+++: I'm afraid to rout the channels in such a so highly figured wood, chips awaited... )

You on vacation or what? I haven't seen or heard from you since Sept. 23. I was really getting into your new project. I think it is beautiful and reminds me of my wife for some strange reason LOL!

Hi Paul,

Trying to fix my problems one after another :)

I did the inlay job for the peg head last week:

Image

I just tested my wood dying and sunburst skills... trying to find a nice color:

Image

I'm waiting for the fretboard inlays (Viet Nam) and some Stewmac stuff to really continue the job

About your wife, will I be allowed to play my guitar without you to be angry? :D
