Is my question so stupid?
Is the neck/string spacing really too large?
Is it impossible to built a PU that way?

Xavier, You asked about a custom made pickup. I have purchased 3 different pickups from Jerry Wallace and on each purchase he asked me the string spacing. So I assume Jerry could wind you a TruTone in any string spacing within reason.
