Lap Steel quickie

Post by azureskys »

here is a lap steel i built in about an hour . all it needs now is a finish and a pickup total time will be about two hours , body is pine the neck is red ceder the fret board is oak and key head is maple as well is the nut mount with brass, with the tail stop being aluminum, the cheap tuners work well and i dont hear any buzz from the strings the scale is 24 inches, any comments welcome . russ

Hi Russ,
It looks mighty fine to me. It always amazes me when I see some of the nice work that people do. I just can't do things creatively like that. It would take me forever to do something like that. Again nice guitar.

thank you Lavern , your too kind , Feel free to copy anything you like , being creative is learning how to put things together in a way thats desireable to the eye and using a little art work is also a way to make things look good , in my mind anyway . Russ

Two hours, eh?

Howcome, do you have some gnomes in your backyard, doing the complicated things overnight? Anyway, it looks fantastic. The artwork alone would have taken me two hours to make. Do you have some fine machinery to mill all the different parts? Please let us have some more details, I am sure we all would appreciate that very much!

AAAH!, now I can see why it only took you one hour: only five strings there, haha.
