Hey, I'm building a lap steel and I've decided to just use a tone control and no volume, I'm using a Gibson pickup. The guitar is going to have an aluminum bridge on it, my question is,. Is there any other option for grounding other than to the bridge? I assume not, buy I'm already tight for space I'm just trying to figure out how I'll have to route that wire.

You could drill a small hole under the bridge that will be hidden once it is on the body, and "sandwich" the bare end of the wire between the bridge and body.

There's no intrinsic point in grounding it to the bridge. The humbucker casing (if metal) and the bridge should both be connected to the audio ground which makes its eventual external connection as the sleeve of the jack.
