Re: Steel Seat

Thanks Scott, appreciate it, email address sent :) I noticed after looking at the photo again that yours was also a 2 lever model, but both on the left. Mine has one lever on the left and one on the right, e - eb on the left and the raise on the right side of the guitar. Don't know why they did it t...

Re: Steel Seat

Hi Scott, Seat looks good :) That looks like the same GFI as I have, is it the student model? I have one the same colour but just 2 knee levers. Could you possibly put up a few photos on the undercarriage for me, I bought mine 2nd hand and think the rodding has been changed, so I've been playing abo...

Re: We Had A Fire - All Is Lost

Richard, so sorry to hear that, I guess the main thing is that nobody was hurt. I have a friend who's house was destroyed by fire one New Years night, he had a partner and 3 young kids at the time, they just made it out in time. However, everything was destroyed. He said the worst part is the memori...

Re: New Lap Steel from china (maybe)

Hi, I recently bought a Weissenborn guitar from a company based in the South of England, this one, http://www.anderwoodguitars.com/products_Big_Island_weissenborn.php If you look at their site, the impression is that these are made by their own Luthiers. In fact they are made in China by this compan...

Re: Making a start

Hi Richard, Thanks for the info, your 6 channel pickup sounds interesting. I'd already checked out the info on the music-electronics site, in fact I recently joined the forum, some very useful info there generally. I started work on an Alumnitone style pickup but it kinda ground to a halt when I dis...

Re: Making a start

Hi, As I'm completely new to all of this, I thought it might be an idea to build a little workshop before I start actually doing anything. I've just about got enough tools & accessories now to make a start, although my desired tools list just seems to keep growing, I'm sure you all know what I mean ...

Re: multi effects pedal

I use a Boss GT3 multi-effects pedal, a bit old hat these days but still a good unit and it does all that I need. When I first bought my pedal steel I used the volume pedal on the Boss but there were a few drawbacks, first the whole effects pedal needs to sit below the pedal steel and it's quite wid...

Re: Finished building

Looks really sweet Ron, you have every right to feel proud of the result :D As a relative newcomer to playing PS I would say that perseverence is the key. When I first started the neighbours thought the cat was being strangled, actually it was my wife strangling me if I didn't stop making that racke...

Re: Serial 007

As long as Oddjob doesn't remove his hat you should be OK ;)

Or as Ewan Mcgregor said to Sean Connery on a Scottish chat show,

Mish Moneypenny, you're a s*ite for shore eyes
