Re: What copedent should I go with?

Yes, I have Es raise on LKL, and Es lowered on RKL. My teacher, David Hartley pays that way and it's how my current guitar was set up when I got it. He suggested I leave it that way and I'm used to it now.

Re: What copedent should I go with?

Me personally, I went for the Emmons setup, and I found that quite easy to get on with. My knee levers for lowering and raising the Es are split between the two knees, and I would recommend that but again, horses for courses. As for the others, I raise 1 & 7, and I lower 2 a half step, then a hole s...

And if anybody on here would know, Ron would. I thought the beating should be further forward than it is? Anybody else? Or am I wrong!

Re: Cast bellcranks

Thanks Russ. That surprised me a little. I'd have thought Delrin or Acetal would have enough tensile strength. Does anyone have a ballpark figure for how much pull these bellcranks have to withstand roughly?

Re: Cast bellcranks

Not having access to a milling machine I've started to think of other ways I can make my bellcranks and still end up with something elegant and functional. I'm thinking folding steel to make something like a schild, which means lots of holes in the cross shafts. Or how about using delrin or Nylon? D...

Cast bellcranks

Ok, so I spotted an ad for a local man who casts parts using lost wax and I thought I'd contact him to see if he could cast me some aluminium bell cranks. Apparently cast Ali is not as strong as machined billets.
"What about Brass?" He asks
Hmmmm
Thoughts?

Re: Two more in the pipeline

Slowly, Ron! I've made the knee levers but not their attachments. Will Cowell is making my end plates and pedals on his mill, but has had some problems that have slowed him down, and it m currently working on my changer.
Key head is done. That's something I suppose!

Re: Two more in the pipeline

Lovely work. How do you make your metal parts? Do you use a milling machine?
