Re: Sierra "Makin' Chips" video series.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that the New year will be a good one!

We just posted another video, this time I'm making the changer stop bar/return spring mount.

Thanks for watching!

Jim Palenscar proprietor of Steel Guitars of North County (as well as one of the sweetest most helpful guys on earth) makes fretboards to order. you can find...

Re: Sierra "Makin' Chips" video series.

hi LaVerne, You caught me just before heading out to make some chips. This is new software to me and I'm horrible at learning software. I haven't found what you're asking about, nor have I really looked for it. In the beginning of that part I was actually trying to get 15 or 16 parts from the 1' squ...

Re: Sierra "Makin' Chips" video series.

You've pretty much described the fixture (a temp one to try things out) I use in the neck vids...that fixture was also to be used for the top and necks, but I changed my mind for some reason or other. There's a lot of ways to skin all these cats and I've no doubt lots are better than the way I do it...

Re: Sierra "Makin' Chips" video series.

These were the very first parts I made on the router and I haven't completely dialed in my methods. Lot's of ways to skin the cat. As I gain more experience with the router I'm sure I'll do things differently. Thanks for watching the vids.

Re: Newbie

I use aluminum for almost everything on the new Sierra Pedal Steels I'm building. I use stainless steel for all the pivot points (cross shafts, changer, knee pivots) and for pull rods.

I use both 7075 and 6061 aluminum.
