Re: Harmony H601. Help with the wiring.
Glad to hear the pickup is working. Yes as you bring the pickup closer to the strings you will get more volume. 1/8 inch gap between the strings and pickup is around the average distance most people on the forum like. As for measuring the resistance of the tone and volume pots they should be measure...

Re: Harmony H601. Help with the wiring.
Something does not look right to me about your drawing. First thing I would do is wire the pickup directly to the jack input, plug in the guitar to the amp and make sure the pickup is working. Use the tone and volume control on the amp to test it out. If the pick up checks out and works O.K., I woul...

Re: Finally!!
Hi Ross,
That is one real nice looking guitar. Quite different from many of the guitars we see here. The changer and keyhead are impressive. Just wondering though, how did you come up with the name and how many hours work do you figure you put into this build?
Nice work!

Re: More pull/release questions
Hey Russ, The guitar I am showing is a custom built from someone I do not know. I purchased the guitar from someone on the Steel Guitar Forum. The guy I bought it from was in Tennessee and he bought it as a project guitar. It was built, I am guessing, back in the 60's or 70's I put a lot of time int...
