Re: Pull bars question from Steve B.
You can make the bellcranks any size you want. Dimensions are dictated by the method you use to attach them to the pull-rods that operate the changer. I never heard of anyone on here making tapered bellcranks though. The old push-pulls had fancy S-shaped bellcranks with pivot pins in fixed locations...

Re: Aluminum Keyheads
Scott, this is an old thread I know, but I have been able to make some perfectly serviceable keyhead "steps" and roller nut assembly for my lap steel from 1" square alloy bar. Its a sight less wastage than cutting it out of plate. I made the assembly as three separate parts, screwed together with re...

Alberto, if you can post a decent photo of the electronics I can maybe help you with some suggestions.

Re: Strings- Pins Vs Hooks
Williams use square cross-shafts as well, Jason. My DIY steel will have square cross-shafts, and hooks in the changer fingers for the ball ends. It's so positive - no messing around with "will it catch or will it slip off?" like the Zum, Ritt etc. I think even Fulawka uses a pin - but don't quote me...
