Steel Guitar Builder

Well its time I tried this but i really dont know a whole lot can someone help me get started on my first build Im looking to build a simple six maybe eight string lap steel I really need some dimensions on the length.

Is your book close to being done or does it have a ways to go.I think your ideas even though a bit different from mainstream ideas of building pedal steels are very good its never a bad thing to be different but te idea of using a bandsaw is interesting which if I ever do anything Ill probalbly star...

That is very interesting that I dont need a milling machine Was it very hard making parts with a band saw.

I know I would be interested in a book on how to build a pedal steel which I havent ever even built a lap steel but I hope at some point to get into some building it may be a while but Im looking into it.

It looks like its going to be a great looking guitar.
