I did something similar to your leg mounts and it worked out just fine , over a period of time however that might work itself loose and it might not , something to think about anyway . Russ

Maple wood holds up on regular guitars , i dont see any reason why not on a pedal steel, im using one i made from walnut myself and walnut pillow blocks on the changer . Russ

Start your scale right where the strings make contact with the nut , some advice is to get your self a scale rule it has all the fret lines marked on it and all ya gotta do is make your lines for the frets where they are indicated and presto you have it all marked where you want them to be , or copy...

Thank you ,Ron , Jason . I was thinking maybe i should go with aluminum pillow blocks , it just might look better once all polished and detailed , we ll see . Im also working on a keyless tuner , not necesserly for this guitar but more to come , kinda like based on a design that Sierra had on their ...

Got some magnets also , ceramic mags that is they look really nice no chips or flaws , the bobbin in the pic i made a few years ago ill use it for now , this will be my first pickup , Im using 41 or 42 wire for the pickup .

Here are some parts bell cranks legs brackets cross rods changer fingers etc etc . still more to make , I got some stainless 1/8 inch rods for the pull rods and some 1 inch by 3/8 inch for the knee levers , enjoy and thanks for looking comments welcome Russ
