Re: Another Changer Idea
I haven't actually built the guitar yet with this changer or one with any stop on the raise finger. I have however over the years since 1962 built quite a few steels with pull/release one piece fingers. The lower stop is an integral part of this design and always gives a really accurate lowered note...

Re: Another Changer Idea
Hi, The black thing above the raise rod on the left is an adjustable raise helper spring. Sometimes you need them, sometimes you don't. The raise stop is a piece of "pull rod" coupled to the raise finger (hinged) and threaded at the other end, and a nut with the plastic insert is screwed on and can ...

Re: Another Changer Idea
Hi Bent, The Bud I had here had both, a stop on the finger and also on the pedal cranks. It's just my feeling that whether or not you have both, the one on the finger is the one that's most important 'cause the finger position is where the note is actually determined wherever you stop it. One proble...

Another Changer Idea
Hello folks! I've been working on yet another changer design. It's not a new invention, just an adaptation of several other designs, particularly the old ShoBud fingertip. I recently had one of those in for repairs. After getting all the extraneous junk off that had been added over the years and get...

Re: Keyless tuning module
Hi Richard..... I never gave the thread count much thought, seems to be OK. It's 8-32 which is what I use on almost all the parts on the guitars I build. Actually the guitars that I build now can be taken completely apart with one #8 (red) Robertson screwdriver, no Phillips and no Allen wrenches nee...

Hi Russ,
Were you going to send (or post) an email address that I could send the PDF file of the keyless tuner module to?
Cheers,
Mac

Re: Keyless tuning module
Hey Mike.... You're right, the whole thing was not my invention really, just the way I put it together from a couple of other folks ideas as well. I've made other ones but to me this is the best I could come up with. The two main faults with others as I see it is that some others don't have enough a...

Keyless tuning module
I'm in the process of building 2 more pedal steels this winter. One will be a keyless, so I thought I'd just post a couple of pictures of the keyless tuning gadgetry. If anyone's interested I can post or email the dimensions etc.
Cheers,
Mac
