Hi Guys
Just me with more questions! Is there a good plan of attack to rodding a new
guitar? What hole in the bellcrank to what hole in the changer finger ect.
Is there any good chart to go by? Would be greatfull for any help/advice

Re: knee lever question!!
Richard Yes, your reply helps alot! I fully agree, if you sit at the guitar to play and the levers are 2" away from your leg on each side we would be creating alot of uneeded work and motion! The guitar will not be pleasant to play. personally i like the levers only about say 1/4" from my leg on eac...

Re: knee lever question!!
Hi Richard Yes, you make some good points! For most builders that build guitars to sell i guess they try to find a one size fits all space between knee levers. Then we can fine tune the levers by tilting them in or out. What i am really trying to determine is what is that common lever spacing! On a ...

I understand! I am quite tall and have thin legs so dont need the levers too
wide apart. I will take into consideration the the points you have mentioned
here and thanks very much for your insite into this!

Re: Blackbird - finished
Hey Bent
The guitar looks real nice! Looks like all the underside parts are pollished
as well. You sure have a magic touch!

Re: Blackbird to replace Amber
Wayne, thanks. Yes, the pup goes on the plate which hangs in the 3 screws that are spring loaded. I don't know, buy I theorize that a single coil put which tends to be noisy, is offered extra shielding being surrounded by metal on sides and bottom. In addition, I use copper foil to shield the windi...

Re: Blackbird to replace Amber
Bent That pick-up/changer housing looks real nice! I would venture to guess that that steel will have good tone! In the pic. it looks like the pup is mounting to a al. plate at the bottom of the pup cavity and a little above the wood deck. The fact that it is not mounted directly to the wood should ...

Re: Mounting a Pick-up!!!
Guys, i understand the methods you are both describing! When using springs the pup would be somewhat damp'd or buffered from 100% contact with the guitar body. If mounted 100% right to the body, then the pup may pick up body noise and ad a muddiness to the sound. This muddier sound may be preffered ...
