Re: Using Veneer wood to finish question
I would use the router with a laminate bit. One slip with the knife, and the guitar or you are ruined...

Re: Using Veneer wood to finish question
There are some very nice "trim routers" out there today. A way to make them more stable, is to make a larger base out of Plexiglas. Below is an example (not mine, wish it was!) http://americanwoodworker.com/cfs-filesystemfile.ashx/__key/CommunityServer.Blogs.Components.WeblogFiles/bricofleur/Trim-Ro...

See thru pedal steel
Probably wouldn't be the best body material, but wouldn't it be neat to make a pedal steel out of Lucite or something so it would be see thru? What got me thinking was I saw a Stratocaster knock off on Goodwill's auction site with a see thru body. Might be a neat trick for a builder to do as a demo,...

Re: Keyhead shobud style with no roller nuts
If you look at the picture of my keyhead compared to yours, yours will need slots cut in it for the rollers. Could be done carefully. The old adage, measure twice, cut once! Probably need to remember, it is going to raise the strings slightly. The middle of the roller height will be at the slot leve...

Re: Keyhead shobud style with no roller nuts
You may need to do one or even two things. First, the picture cannot be more than 800 pixels wide or 600 pixels high. And, it may need to be of a smaller file size, which in JPG pictures, is called "compression". I use an image software called IrfanView, which is free. You would have to look through...
