I've used Wallace Trutones on two of my lap steels, http://www.jerrywallacemusic.com/cart.html, and am very pleased with them. I've used both 6 and 8 string. Very quick turn around. Don't be too disappointed by the replies yet. I sometimes get pretty busy with grand-kids and to-do lists that I am not able to get here everyday. Just a guess, or maybe more accurately a thought. I believe the difference would be negligible but a pedal rod pulling up on the center of the pedal would distribute more of the forces along the entire center line of the axis. Whereas from the side would be putting more forces on one side or other. ...

I saw that too. It makes me quite happy to see that. You see I have some of those mud wrestlers in my back yard too. (barn yard that is). Not only do we like steel guitars but mud wrestlers too.
