I just finished a keyless lap steel. 22.5" scale and 24'5" overall. I got the keyless head from a local guy. Don't know where to get a commercial unit.

I carried a set of those in my "work cloths" pocket for 30 years and never dreamed of using them for anything but tip cleaning. I'll have to give them a try.

Thanks guys. I am building a couple mini practice steels and want to put a decent finish on them.

Is it possible to get a decent finish with spraycan laquer???
