Re: Lathe or Milling Machine???

I have a small combo unit and would do it different if I was doing it over. For one it was plenty big enough when I bought it but now it seems like I wis it was bigger. For guitar parts other than say a rear apron , endplates or something like that is is fine. I did however redo my rear apron and it...

Re: Calling it quits !!

Well it is official and I am all done . Since late Febuary I have done nothing much but go to this doctor here and that one there. I am told that pain pills is my only option and surgery has been ruled out. I finally went to the doctor in Febuary because the pain was too much . Now I am to the same ...

Re: How to make bellcranks?

I don't see how you would get it chucked up and if you did a drill press is not made to have a side load put on it. Scott

Re: How to make bellcranks?

Pat I never made it to the shop today , but here is a explanation of it. As usual I seem to buy the wrong tool because I don't know what I am doing. I bought a collet and was thinking it would work properly with my small lathe. However it wouldn't so I modified it and simply chuck it up in the 3 jaw...

Re: The Price of Learning

That is why the second is better than the first . The third will be better than the second and so on . I have learned from mistakes and only consider it a mistake if you fail to learn from it.

Re: Need Lever lock Ideas

I came up with one that appears to work . It is a window lever lock from the local Ace hardware for less than $ 5 .00 . I threaded a rod so it would have more to bite on and attached it to the lever with a heim joint. The cam lever pushes the plunger down and holds the rod. I only rodded the Eb knee...

Re: Pedal Steel Guitar ( Project #2 )

It may not be , but reminds me of trunk splatter paint. Available in various colors at most auto parts stores. Nice finish , gald to see the endplate in use.

Re: Finally making knee levers.

Here are the levers and I moved the pivot up on the reversing levers , so I no longer need the little direction changers mounted on the rear panel.
