Re: Resophonic Sound Chamber

If you are thinking of a spider bridge (Dobro) type reso, the cone traditionally sits on a rim called a soundwell. Some more modern designs use a post and baffle system. Here are some soundwells: http://www.resophonicoutfitters.com/category/021.html Some soundwells have few holes than those pictured...

Re: Tricone

dave, I just saw your post. I own and play a Republic Tricone Squareneck. I can not imagine a T-Bridge made of any material other than aluminum, but experimentation might yield interesting results. If, for some reason, I have that guitar apart, I will be glad to weigh the bridge for you. In the mean...

Re: Rods that pull fingers in the changer system question

Here is some info on drill and tap sizes and the decimal equivalents for some letter and number drill bits: http://littlemachineshop.com/Reference/tapdrill.php If you spend a little time poking around that web site, I think that you will find a lot of similar useful information. I don't know where y...

Re: Tone Pot .For Stringmaster Style Pickups

I have a Fender 400 PSG with the Jaguar style pickup. Both the stock volume and tone pots are 1 Meg. That's OK for the volume, but with that high of a value, I found that not much of the knob travel affected the tone. After experimenting with several differrent value pots, I replaced the tone pot wi...

Re: See thru pedal steel

It's not a steel, but I remember back in the day Keef playing a clear Lucite Dan Armstrong-Ampeg. Very Cool! Image

I think that Richard is on the right track. Cutting down and simplifing, you could wind up with something like this:

homemade palm pedal

Here is a simple palm pedal from off the shelf parts: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1029/8297_100_1753_1.jpg The lever is over the bridge and I think that that is the only way that I have ever seen them. More info here: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=219408&highlight= HTH.

Re: Bridge – PU distance

Bent, here is a simple sketch that I think along with the previous description covers all the details. Here are some comments, in no particular order, about the drawing: I have a George-L pickup sitting around in a project heap, so I used that as a model for the pickup mounting tabs. Of course, a sy...

Re: Bridge – PU distance

Here's one idea for a movable pickup: Make a cavity in the guitar body the width of the pickup, the length of the desired travel and deep enough for the pickup and the wires. Install two parallel rods for the pickup to rest on. The height of the rods should place the pickup at the desired distance u...

Re: Question about rodding!!

Wayne, some good stuff there from Bent. Also, you might find some useful info here:

My link goes to the rodding page, but I think that you will want to poke around the entire site.
