Thanks for the info and especially the pics. I'm curious about the springs used to hold the rods to the bell cranks. Do you have to make them or are they an off the shelf thing from a spring vendor? I've seen them before on other steel guitars.

I've worked on several brands of pedal steel guitars and am now thinking of building my own and looking for ideas. This changer is one I'm not familiar with and wondered if you have any photos of it? Am I missing something or are you limited to one raise and one lower with this changer?

Hi Richard, Thanks for the feedback. It gives me more confidence to try the teflon silicone. I'm not sure how long it will last before needing replenishing. Thanks for the tip about stainless set screws. I'll try some. Set screws are a PITA but a lot of the older guitars I work on use them extensively.

Does anyone on the forum make or have a source for 14 hole Emmons Lagrande type bell cranks? I think it would be okay if it had fewer holes, maybe 2 sets of 4 staggered per side.
