Re: Ten String Gibson EH-150 Project
Looks really good Chum. To bad the site does not have the action it had a few years ago. This was a real happening place for builders. I 've been following your build and I love it. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. Sometimes "low action" can be good but not...

Re: Ten String Gibson EH-150 Project
The construction is now pretty much complete, except for drilling a few holes for various components. Unfortunately winter has arrived and I paint outside so that will have to wait until the return of warm weather. I'm very pleased with the way this project has turned out so far. I'm planning on an ...

Ten String Gibson EH-150 Project
I've started building a jumbo version of my previous build and started by drawing up my own plan based on information from a vintage guitar magazine. Although the original guitars were 22.5" scale I extended mine to 23 1/4". One of the prominent features of the Gibson jumbo acoustic guitars (J200) i...

Re: 1936 Gibson EH-150 Build
Now that winter is gone and the weather around here has warmed up I got a chance to clear coat my "Fibson" guitar. I used nitro Lacquer, which I had on hand. I'll let it cure for about three weeks before buffing & adding all the hardware and stringing it up. I'll soon have a lap steel to play. :D I'...

Re: Bridge Metal Supplier
Thanks, I found the material I need. Now all I need is for the snow to melt so I can paint the guitar.

Bridge Metal Supplier FOUND!
I need to find an affordable supplier of angle metal in small quantities for making a bridge assembly for my lap steel project. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my project is pretty much ready for finishing. I've attached a picture of the bridge parts. Dimensions shown are metric EH150.Bridg...

Re: What To Do?
I found some contrasting flame Spanish cedar (mahogany?) veneer and my wife suggested doing this inlay. Other than gluing on the fretboard and chamfering the edges
the basic constriction is finished.- Sat Dec 14, 2019 9:16 pm

What To Do?
I'm working on a Gibson 1936 EH150 replica project and I need some suggestions. I rescued a 1/8” thick piece of striped maple from the another builder who gave up on his project for the top. It had already been cut out and wasn't quite wide enough in the upper waist area for my Gibson pattern. So I ...

Re: 1936 Gibson EH-150 Build
My StewMac order of parts arrived so I could finish off some details like drilling the jack plug and control pot holes. I also glued on the back of the guitar. However, I noticed a major problem after I clamped the back down. I glued the back on with the wrong side facing out. Fortunately the glue w...
